You may have missed this item over the holiday period, but we thought it was worth reporting to our members as some of them may possibly be affected by the news. On December 27th The Age reported that the Melbourne based auction house, Mossgreen, had entered voluntary administration. A spokesman for the company said creditors would not be out of pocket and that the move was due to debts following the company’s rapid expansion and the withdrawal of its key investor. Further details will be posted in the Australian Securities and Investment Commissions website. Mossgreen acquired coin, stamp and sports memorabilia experts Charles Leski Auctions in 2013 and in 2015 acquired New Zealand auction house Webb’s.
